OUTER COOKIE
2 Boxes Devils Food Cake Mix
4 Medium Eggs or 3 Large Eggs
1 Cup Shortening
*Variation: Red Velvet Cake Mix, Carrot Cake Mix, etc can be substituted with success.
CREAMY MIDDLE
1/2 Cup Butter
8 Ounces Cream Cheese
1 Teaspoon vanilla
4 Cups Powdered Sugar
*Variation: Add 1/4 Cup Natural Peanut Butter to filling for Chocolate Peanut Butter Oreos.
Mix ingredients for cookies; dough will be thick. Roll dough into balls; you decide how big you want your Oreos to be.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for approximately 8 to 9 minutes. Do not over bake.
Beat together ingredients for creamy middle and spread between 2 cooled cookies.
Refrigerate or freeze.
