taco soup

Easy, fast, and delicious. Really hits the spot on a fall day. The most time consuming step is browning the hamburger or ground turkey. I've used both kinds of meat and my family prefers ground turkey. In this instance, I'm happy to give 'em what they want.

INGREDIENTS

1 pound hamburger or ground turkey

1/2 cup onion - optional

2 cans (8 ounces) Tomato Sauce

2 cans (16 ounces) Stewed Tomatoes - Any kind, you can't go wrong. Chop or slightly blend.

2 cans Ranch Style Pinto Beans - Substitute 1 can kidney, black, etc. if you need/want to.

2 packages or 1/4 cup taco seasoning

3 cups water

DIRECTIONS

This recipe offers a lot of room for creativity. Sometimes I add a can of drained corn or green beans or both to mix it up.

Combine all ingredients into a large pot, bring to a boil, simmer until ready to serve.

Grab your favorite corn chips, grate some cheese, put out the container of sour cream, serve up some sliced or mashed avocado, if people like 'em, slice up some olives, and let your family go crazy.

Freezes well!
